Frontline agencies, particularly government-affiliated centers, first responders, and specialized coalitions, frequently face systemic constraints restricting their ability to directly solicit or process private funding. The Support Side functions to bypass these limitations. By marshaling private capital, facilitating in-kind donations, and organizing strategic fundraising initiatives, The Support Side ensures these essential entities maintain full operational capacity without diverting focus from their primary mandates.

For 25 years, Wade Miller has built a reputation as someone you call when the path forward is blocked and the stakes are at their highest. As the founder of The Support Side, SPC, he brings that same fighting spirit and indomitable will to Southern California’s charitable landscape.

When he isn’t dismantling roadblocks for San Diego’s frontline organizations, you’ll find Wade recharging on a local hiking trail, at the beach, or practicing the quiet meditation that keeps him sharp for the next fight.

Funding the Frontline

The Support Side serves as a dedicated philanthropic vehicle for entities unable to independently execute fundraising campaigns. The operational structure centers on three mechanisms:

Targeted Capital Allocation

The Support Side serves as a high-velocity funding mechanism designed to bypass the traditional lag of municipal budget cycles. We identify and vet critical organizations within the law enforcement, victim services, and legal advocacy sectors that are currently operating with restricted or insufficient public funds. By deploying targeted capital directly where it is needed most, we ensure that specialized units and advocacy groups remain fully operational, regardless of the administrative hurdles or political gridlock that often stall public financing.

In-Kind Resource Facilitation

Beyond direct financial support, our model prioritizes the rapid facilitation of in-kind resources and professional expertise. Frontline agencies frequently require specialized equipment, facility upgrades, or technical services that fall outside the scope of their standard procurement processes. We bridge this gap by sourcing and managing these tangible assets, ranging from advanced technology for first responders to facility improvements for family justice centers, allowing our partners to access state-of-the-art tools without the friction of government red tape.

Capacity Building

Our most vital contribution is the absorption of the administrative and logistical burdens associated with large-scale fundraising. Public servants and advocates should not have to choose between executing their mission and securing the resources to sustain it. By acting as the dedicated philanthropic arm for these entities, we allow them to dedicate maximum bandwidth to direct community intervention.
